Dr. Morning and Mr. Friendly
We’ve known for a while now that Jonah is a morning person. When I manage to schlep myself out of bed, get their milk cups out of the fridge, and trudge into the boys’ room, Jonah is bouncing, talking, singing, reading, or flinging his crib toys into Benjamin’s crib – all with a huge smile on his face.
We’ve known for a while now that Benjamin is a people person. When I’m strolling the boys down the street he says “hi” and waves to most everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a baby, a truck, a homeless person, or a duck. Or if you’re even looking his way.
A morning person and an extrovert?
How is this possible with Jonathan and me for parents?!

It’s confirmed that Benjamin’s sleeping difficulties the past week or so were due to teeth… I saw his upper two incisors peeking through last night.

You know the labels on certain medication that say “Don’t operate heavy machinery…blah, blah, blah”? Benadryl should come with a similar warning: “Don’t be solely responsible for two toddlers after taking this medication.”
After sitting on an ant mound and being driven mad by seven ant bites, I finally gave in and popped a pill. Jonah woke up from his nap shortly thereafter so I brought him in on the couch and he laid on me for a while. The Benadryl was starting to kick in just about the time he was finished snuggling and ready to play. So he crawled down and….
… the next thing I know Jonathan is walking in the door. Jonah had been playing in his room, Benjamin had woken up and was playing in his crib, and I had been in La La Land for half an hour. Good grief.

The boys invented their first game last night during their bath:
Benjamin puts a foam toy in his mouth, looks at Jonah, and shakes his head. Jonah giggles uproariously and “says:” That’s hilarious!! Give it to me now!

Jonathan and I were peeking our heads into the bathroom and trying not to laugh out loud. Jonathan was amused they had invented a game on their own; I was pleased that they were sharing so well!
