Suspect: short, balding white male; repeat offender
We’ve now been in our new place for well over a year. We meant to replace the carpeting in the bedrooms before we moved in, but ran out of time. And it’s probably best that we didn’t because things like this happen regularly….
I was giving the boys a bath last night and pulled out Jonah first and toweled him down. I made him wait in the (tiled) bathroom so he wouldn’t run off and squat somewhere, as he is prone to do. I towel down Benjamin and was taking Jonah’s hand when Benjamin pees all over the bathroom floor.
Fine.
I cover it with the towel before the floor became a slip and slide, then take Jonah into the bedroom to diaper and dress him. Benjamin is playing with a pile of Beanie Babies to my right. I’m putting on Jonah’s pajama top when Benjamin picks something up and shows it to me.
“Rock!” he says.
“Hmmm, a rock,” I say. Jonah is forever bringing home rocks and depositing them all over the house, so this doesn’t faze me. But then I notice this particular rock is a unique shade of greenish brown. And Benjamin is squishing it. And he had stepped in it.
Fine.
I clean all that up, finish dressing the boys and off they go to play. I lean down to pick up the Beanie Babies. Stretch the Ostrich is wet. Upon closer inspection – and a smell test – I realize Benjamin had peed all over both the carpet and a couple of innocent Beanie Bystanders.
It was a Pee and Run.
