Thanks to the contributors to last week’s carnival - we had submissions about customizing WordPress, a list of the top frugal bloggers, advertising options, and even  a Goggle haiku!

My topic this week is how to get free email with your own domain name.  I own the domain www.SeaBirdChronicles.com, but until recently I thought I would have to pay a hosting company to get an email address set up using my domain.  Then I discovered Google Apps.  All you do is verify ownership of your domain and you can create up to 100 email accounts with your domain name (e.g.  admin@seabirdchronicles.com).

You can then customize the content and color scheme of your sign-in page (calendar, news, quotes, email previews, weather, sticky notes, links to documents, photos, etc.).  I’ve been using it for a few months without a hitch!
