Home 2.0

What started out as “Remodel the Laundry Room in a Week Project" – and morphed into “Move Every Piece of Furniture (except five) that We Own Project" - the new version of our house is now complete. Well, except for putting away the dozens of piles of displaced things strewn about each room. We even managed to get rid of a spare nightstand that had been serving as storage piece for Jonathan’s tools.

As we visited Home Depot, Target, and the like, we kept getting new ideas for Home 2.0 and so ended up with a snazzy new way of storing our CDs:

We’re putting each CD in a paper sleeve, labeling the sleeve along the top, and then putting it into the box to the left (we bought five – room for expansion!).  We had been using two large CD wallets, but had run out of space inside. Also, they took up a lot of space to have them open and accessible all the time.   (more WFMW!)

And because I am co-creator of Home 2.0, the CDs will be alphabatized.  And the movies the boys are allowed to watch will have a special sticker on them.

While we were at Linens N Things buying a large storage bin for our patio - and I was strolling the boys around to keep them from spontaneously combusting while Jonathan paid for it - I came across the first silverware set that Jonathan and I have both liked since we started looking seven years ago.  So, out with the old - which was actually my parent's first set of silverware - and in with the new!

I'll post Before and After photos of the laundry room in a few days - or months - depending on when Jonathan finishes organizing all his tools.

And although we’re not using the corral to contain the boys anymore, it did come in handy to keep those destructive little minions away from the books while we were moving everything around.  (We had to remove every single book from all the bookcases to be able to move them.  But I did manage to part with a couple dozen along the way, thrilling Jonathan to no end.)

The boys, as always, were a big help during the whole process....
