Air travel with two squirmy worms
The flight home was definitely easier than the flight out.... no connections and both boys slept, even though it was before lunch. We also had a row of three seats plus one seat across the aisle to ourselves - yeah! The only annoyance was when we landed and got to the gate, Jonathan had to wait quite a while for the stroller to be unloaded so we could load up the boys. A flight attendant came back and told me (I was the only one left on the plane) that the boys and I had to leave immediately so the plane could be cleaned.
I told her my husband was getting the stroller and I couldn't carry three backpacks and two babies off the plane by myself. (Actually, I probably could, but... that is not the point... couldn't she give me an extra 75 seconds?!) She said, "I have twins, too, so I understand," then made a move to scoop up a sleeping Jonah.
Realizing I couldn't stall her, I said "Take this one!" and shoved Benjamin into her arms. If Jonah woke up to some strange and decidedly unfriendly person holding him, his screams would be louder than when I turn on the blender without warning. Eeek!
A few photos from the trips follow. First, playing on, under, between some random cots just outside the gate. Then a steady stream of snacks once we get on the plane. The toys and books come out, but Benjamin has a constant and unquenchable desire to move, move, move! Then he gives you The Look and you begin a desperate plea to God to speed up time...only moments remain before the Tyrannosaurus comes out to play.
