Wendy’s is my favorite fast-food restaurant. I just tried their new Frosty Float… what a great idea…it’s delicious! Of course, you can never go wrong when a Frosty is one of the ingredients (fries dipped in Frosties – yum!), but I didn’t know if it would actually taste like a float. It does, and you can get it with any soda (Diet Coke, Root Beer, etc.).
[I also tried the new Coke Zero (not on the same day, mind you, or I’d go into caffeine-induced lunacy). The Zero stands for Zero taste. Blech.]
The point of this is that I was mentioning this to my mother-in-law, who replied that she’d never. Eaten. At. Wendy’s. Ever. How is this possible? HOW is this possible, I ask you?
So she’s never had a Frosty, poor thing. Granted, I don’t eat as many as did during the last six weeks of pregnancy when I was so desperate for calories that actually appealed to me….. but…. I still have one every month or so.
Today for lunch I went through the Wendy’s drive through. They handed me a spicy chicken sandwich. Then I turned and handed the boys….rice cakes.
I wonder when they’ll start realizing they get the short end of the stick here. Maybe around the same time as they realize that there is No More Banana even though there is still a peel. I have explained ad nauseum that we don’t eat the peel, but they still have fits and act like I’m driving a nail through their heads when I throw it away.

And speaking of rice cakes…
WFMW: I got my Wednesdays mixed up and actually posted Healthy Toddler Travel Snacks last week. I have a couple of additions to the list, though:
12. Annie’s Whole Wheat Cheddar Bunnies. Whole grain and tasty!
13. Brown rice cakes. Rice cakes were already on the list, but I just found brown rice cakes at Wild Oats the other day – even better!
14. Fruit smoothie. Blend together milk, one or more of the following: banana/berries/cantaloupe, and a little protein powder. Pour into sippy cups.
Do you have any easy and healthy snacks for toddlers on the go? Please post a comment and share – I welcome new ideas! For other travel tips, check out Rocks In My Dryer.
