Diapers, diapers, diapers!
When the boys were born, Jonathan had never changed a diaper. And he was only half-joking when he spoke of installing a hose on our balcony so we could just spray them down on occasion.
Benjamin and Jonah came home wearing preemie diapers because that was the smallest size available –they were too big, though, and leaked several times a day. I spent my life in the laundry room -- and the boys were often in hats and blankets since we ran out of teeny-tiny clothing in a few hours -- until we discovered disposable diaper pads. (Thank you, Lisa!)
[Note: I should’ve just installed a cot and mini-fridge in the laundry room at that point since the twelve-month projectile vomiting spree was just beginning. But I digress….]
Fast forward three months and the boys were sleeping through the night (thank you, God!) and therefore going 12 hours without a diaper change. During the day we used Wal-Mart brand diapers and, though not as cushy, contained the bodily fluids reasonably well. But at night we often used Pampers or Huggies for the additional comfort and absorption capacity.
Now, the boys are still in their night-time diapers for about twelve hours – then Jonah usually has his morning poop before I even get to his crib – it’s a lot to ask of a single diaper!
The last few months, though, we’ve just been using Wal-Mart diapers for day and night. Benjamin’s diaper leaks about five times a month and Jonah’s about three times a month, both almost always overnight.
In light of these leakage issues, Huggies, via Parent Bloggers, recently sent us a two week supply of Overnites to try on our boys.
And now for the easiest review I've ever written..... We love them! Not only are they comfortable and cushy, but they have significantly reduced the number of overnight leaks around here! (Only two leaks in two weeks – both from Benjamin – and one of those was a morning he slept an extra hour and a half.)
Jonathan adds his comment: “I have to imagine that they are more comfortable because they fit their bodies. [The diapers we usually use] are terrible on the fit.”

So, Huggies Overnites receive four thumbs up from our household!
