Ground Zero still at Ground Zero

NYC4.jpg

I was at Ground Zero in New York City almost exactly two years ago. I went again two weeks ago. It looks basically the same.

Ground Zero is across the street from St. Paul’s Chapel (see the graveyard below - the WTC site is in the background), which has seen a lot in it's 241 years.....

I was reading to the boys before their nap when I hear a familiar scratching sound at the back sliding-glass door. When I picked them up to take them to their room, I confirmed my suspicions…

A friendly iguana trying to take refuge in our living room. I whipped out the hose and made sure the only impression he’ll have of our patio (and my bouganvilleas the iguanas love to munch) is pain and suffering.

The boys were finishing dinner. I asked Jonathan to come clean up Benjamin. A couple minutes later I asked him to come clean up Jonah.

“What am I, a Hazmat crew?”

No WAY! I'd freak out if that thing was scratching at my door trying to get in!!!

Maybe he should get hazardous pay?

I would freak if I saw an iguana up close and personal!

We don't have iguanas roaming around in North Carolina. Those things would freak me out!
