In which we contract Benjamin out to UPS
Last night I was packing a box to mail (our defective bread machine had to be returned). The packing materials were spread all over the living room floor. Benjamin crawled over to sample the goods.
“We don’t eat bubble wrap, Benjamin,” I said, shaking my head. He stopped, looked at me intently, and shook his head. To distract him from his overwhelming urge to nibble, I asked him to hand me the sheet of bubble wrap so I could use it to pack. He did.
I asked for another. He handed me another.
I pointed to a sheet of bubble wrap several feet away and said, “Now that one, Benjamin.” And he crawled over, picked it up, and held it out to me. But I couldn’t reach it. So he brought it over and helped me put it in the box.
Wow! So useful this little creature is becoming! Now if only all I had to do all day was pack boxes….

This morning Benjamin woke up and decided he’ll start walking. He still crawls sometimes (such as when Jonah might beat him to some food), but he’s walking over half the time.

Isn't it great when kids get old enough to help out? They're so useful when you need something from upstairs and you don't want to walk up there yourself! LOL!
