The weekend my brain broke off

We were invited to three birthday parties this past weekend and attended two. Seems like kids’ parties are one of the only times we catch up with our fellow parent friends these days!

Below are pictures of one of the party favors received. It’s a clothesline with ladybug clothespins to hang artwork from….so cute!

One of the parties was held at a My Gym, an indoor playground with a trampoline, punching bags, pool of balls, tunnels, slides, etc. Loud music was playing most of the time and Jonah had a great time dancing to “I’m a Soul Man!”

I looked at their brochures since they offer classes for young toddlers at a perfect time for us. But once again, even with a 25% sibling discount, it works out to $35 for 45 minutes of activities in which I have to participate as well. But it’s a fun place for birthday parties especially in the hot, humid summer.

We were turning onto our street on the 25 minute drive home when I turned around to look at Jonah and realized he wasn’t fastened into his carseat. I put him into the seat, but forgot to close the straps.

Jonathan glanced at me with a scared look in his eyes and said, “Dude, we have GOT to re-attach your head to your shoulders.”

A shout-out to An Island Life, who is renting my blog this week!  Click the mini-version of her homepage to the left under “Hello from Hawaii!”  She’s brave enough to bring her kids to Chuck E. Cheese (yes, they have spoiled paradise) and she doesn’t hesitate to discipline other people’s children, when need be (bonus points)!  If you’ve been to LegoLand and/or Knott’s Berry Farm, advise her on which to choose for their upcoming family vacation.  And being a flight attendant, she of course has interesting stories of all the whackos out there!
