Snippets about the boys
We were sitting in Subway – the boys across from me in a booth because there were no high chairs – munching a chicken teriyaki sub. I opened up my sandwich to pull out some chicken pieces for the boys and when Benjamin saw the shredded lettuce he said, “seaweed!”

Jonah’s life is a musical now that he can sing. In addition to the standbys of “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Jesus Loves Me,” he’s now using familiar melodies but changing the words. For example, this morning we got together with Harper and his three-month-old sister, Kaila... Jonah walked around singing “Baby Kaila, Baby Kaila” to the tune of “Frere Jacque.”
This is also heard quite often:
“Mama doctor
Doctor said
No more monkeys ‘pin ‘n bed!”
And here's the Jonah-Monkey with a busted lip after he himself took a tumble off the bed:
The picture is grainy, but perhaps you can make out the blood smears under his nose. And on Puppy.

“I can’t read you a book now, Benjamin. I have to finish my cereal.”
“All done Mama cereal!” he insists, pulling my arm.

Speaking of this morning’s playdate, the boys were watching a video when I told them we were going to play with Harper. Jonah -- my couch potato who could watch videos all day long -- instantly said, “Goodbye video! Harper! Harper!”

Another Benjamin “all done” episode: Sunday during the third verse of a song in church.

“That’s a pencil, Jonah.”
“You want to write with the pencil?”
“Okay, here’s a piece of paper. Let's put it on the floor. Use the pencil to write on it.”
“Not on the tile, not on the tile. Only on the paper.”
“You want a pencil, too, Benjamin? Here you go.”
“Jonah! No, no! Not on the wall - we don’t write on the wall!”
“Time to put away the pencils. Bye pencils!”

Then in the middle of a finger stick, Benjmin said to the nurse as she was collecting his blood: “Goodbye!”
Oh, and did I mention he now has roseola? He was up nine times last night.
