Eyes, ears, and the ubiquitous milk
We put the boys to bed at 8pm. It became very quiet after a few minutes – Jonah opted out of the hour-long Twinkle Twinkle solo act tonight – then 45 minutes later I heard a strange bumping noise through the baby monitor. Curious, I went into the boys’ room and discovered Benjamin running his toy motorcycle along the rail of his crib.
I asked him if he needed a hug; he nodded. I was trying to be very quiet so…
Jonah stood up and asked for milk. And Benjamin chimed in his request.
It’s a good thing we can now buy organic milk by the gallon and save a bit of money because it was coming to the point of either organic milk or college tuition.

Benjamin came out of the church nursery on Sunday with a red eye (the work of the alleged Nursery Stalker?), which had faded to purple by the end of the week when he jammed himself underneath a shopping cart and clocked his other eye.
Purple eyeshadow is the look for fall, isn’t it?
The construction noise is finished. After that first day the noise wasn't so intense, but still constant. Instead of jack-hammering, it was more like a steady regular-hammering of cement right out side our door. Both boys slept through it for their naps. So it's not the sheer volume of noises that bothers Jonah. It must be a combination of suddeness, loudness, and when he doesn't understand where it's coming from. Maybe when we finally cut his hair the acoustics around his head will improve.

I tried Wendy's new M&M Frosty - it's pretty good, though the M&Ms are chopped into bits and there's not enough of them. I also received the following comment from a barista at Whole Foods: "You look exhausted." Good grief, no telling what I looked like last year.
