Thoughts from Silas

Sometimes, when I remember, we work on catechism questions in the car.  Jonah and Benjamin knew the first 8 questions/answers for the Catechism for Young Children when they were two, but have totally forgotten it since.  Now they are learning it in Sunday School, so we try to go over it when we’re out and about.  Silas is learning along with them and today in the car he asked me for the catechism book, opened it, and started “reading:”  (in the same way I do with the older two, who Silas has taken to calling “The Boys”)

Silas:  “Number 1 for Mama:  What is God?”

Me:  “God is a spirit; He doesn’t have a body.”

Silas (this is not actually a question; Silas is improvising):  “Number 2 for Benjamin:  What is the Holy Spirit?”  

Benjamin:  “Uh, it’s part of God.”  

Silas (just totally making up all kinds of things at this point):  “Number Second for Mama:  What is body?”
