This one's for you, Dude

My car is getting an oil change whilst I sit here in the lobby being subjected to some sort of network morning show.

I'd rather listen to twelve people run their nails down a chalkboard.

I did, however, see for the first time a brief clip of Tina Fey impersonating Sarah Palin.

Which reminds me of one of the reasons a friend is considering voting for Obama... that choosing Palin as a VP demonstrates serious lack of good judgment on McCain's part. Without even debating the validity of that assertion (I tend to agree, anyway), I ask him, "If the pastor of our church runs off with the secretary, would you become Jewish...?"

I have a few serious differences of opinion over policy with McCain. But I cannot afford to support a candidate whose appointment of Supreme Court justices would have such a detrimental affect on my childrens' and grandchildrens' future.

But if something happens to the pastor, the secretary isn't going to become leader of the free world. I think that's where the analogy falls down.

Response from SeaBird Chronicles:

Hmmm, maybe my analogy wasn't written as well as it could have been.... what I was trying to express is that it's not logical to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Just because you think someone makes one poor judgment doesn't mean you abandon the vast majority of principles you have in common.... just out of protest.

And I was writing this post to one person in particular and I didn't give the background information such as this person is, and always has been, a Republican.

Off to vote now!
