Scene: Miami Beach Antique Show

Although I am not particularly attracted to antiques, I figured a large show such as the one on Miami Beach last week would offer at least something of interest.  I was wrong, mostly.

There were only two booths I enjoyed perusing – one of vintage eyeware (they didn’t even have a web site – just a first name and phone number on a calling card) and one of vintage illustrations (I could’ve rummaged through that one for days - I had to run in the opposite direction when I saw some century-old Alice in Wonderland prints).

But there were many booths offering colorful and beautifully-designed antique jewelry I wanted to photograph, just for the inspiring designs.  I took a couple of shots of some beautiful bottles on display in one case –

- asking permission first, but judging by the response I got the impression that photographs are not encouraged.  (“Why do you want to take a picture?  For a souvenir or another purpose?”)

My camera made people nervous.

Too bad you couldn't get more pictures. I love looking at antiques.
