Newlyweds

The other afternoon we went to pick up some registration info for a race Jonathan was to run the next day. It was a triathlon and he'd convinced at least twenty other people from his office to participate in one way or another.

However, he had returned from Venezuela the day before with some sort of nasty virus that caused him to spend one solid hour motionless on the kitchen floor. I told him he was totally dehydrated and there was no way he could run the next day.

Jonathan: All those people from work (groan, moan) I can’t let them down. Can you load the boys in the car and take me to pick up my registration packet?

Me: (exasperated): You can’t stand up, much less run. Just go ahead and call your friends so they know sooner rather than later.

Jonathan: (groan, groan, moan) Now I know what your pregnancy was like.

Me: (eye roll, eye roll, mutters to self)

So off we went. The boys and I waited at the playground while he staggered around locking up his bike and picking up papers. While we waited a newlywed couple and their bridal party came into the bayside park to have photos made. Of course, I had to take a few of my own.

This one is my favorite. She’s swinging around, looking deliriously happy for posterity’s sake, and he’s like You Have Got To Be Kidding Me and stifling an eye roll.

The first of many marital eyes rolls, Dude. The first of many....
