Interview: Jennifer Pinsent of All Things Jenuine

I love quilling! I’ve never done it myself, but I love the idea of a 3D sculpture made out of one of my favorite materials: paper!

Jennifer Pinsent is a Quiller Extraordinaire who creates personalized stationary, jewelry, gift tags, and greeting cards. Jennifer will be a featured contributor to the August edition of the Sugar Chill GiveAway so I wanted to give you a more in-depth look at this Toronto-based artisan….

When did you start quilling and how did you learn?

Jennifer: I was introduced to the art of quilling by my boyfriend's Mother about 2 years ago. She made a card using this technique and I was amazed that the design was made solely out of paper. She gave me some supplies to try my hand at quilling and I instantly found my niche.

What other type of art/craft do you enjoy other than quilling?

I'm passionate about many different types of craft (including knitting, scrapbooking, etc.) for a very short period of time, then I lose interest. The only craft that has stood the test of time for me is quilling.

What is your favorite type of M&M?

I don't really like regular M&M's. I do, however, like mini M&M's. I'm sure there isn't a difference except in size, but if you ask me, mini M&M's are the way to go.

What art do you have displayed in your home? That is, what do you like to surround yourself with?

- Many, many pictures of family and friends.

- Photography taken by my friend on her travels of Europe and Canada.

- Framed drawings from my baby sister.

- I'm currently on the lookout for an antique typewriter and sewing machine to display in my home.

If you had to wear a uniform ever day, what would it be?

My uniform as of late has been my pajamas and I wouldn't have it any other way!

How do you envision All Things Jenuine five years from now – how is it different, how is it the same?

Five years from now I plan to have a stationary and gift shoppe in Toronto. It will include my line of greeting cards and accessories as well as handmade items from other artist/artisans. I also plan to be on the Ellen DeGeneres show talking about my work. :)

Thanks, Jennifer -- I’m looking forward to seeing more of your fun designs! I’ve chosen a few of Jennifer’s many beautiful and clever designs to present above - check out her site All Things Jenuine to see the rest!
