Anytime Jonah sees a “jack-o-lant,” he asks when we’re going to have another Halloween Birthday. And he saw M & Ms in the check-out line the other day and yelped “trickortreats! trickortreats!”
We hadn’t really talked about Thanksgiving at all, but after picking up Abuela from the airport late Thursday afternoon, Jonah ran in through the front door announcing to me that it was THANKSGIVING! (did you not know, Mom?!)
Then his eyes got big when he saw the lit candles on the dining table, “It’s Thanksgiving BIRTHDAY!!”

Jonathan spent the dawn of Black Friday store-hopping (Black Friday was made for people like Jonathan). Then he went to the office. The boys and I went to the playground for nearly two hours because they had slept till 8:30am that morning and if they didn’t run around excessively, they would never nap.
Then Abuela watched the boys while I met Jonathan for lunch, then went to the post office to mail about 50 billion PaperBack Swap books.
As part of my Stuff-Purge the last several months I have decreased my book holdings by about 20%. I can hear you gasping from here. But it’s true. Jonathan says this doesn’t count as purging since essentially I’m swapping.
Details, I say.
Details.
