From the butterfly garden

DSC02864.JPGThe plant-growing season is coming to an end in South Florida.  No more pick-your-own strawberries and tomatoes.

The only things that will be growing for the next six months are the mosquito population and the humidity.

I harvested the last of these orange flowers from our butterfly garden today.  I did see at least one butterfly flitting about during the last couple of months.

It was so easy to grow in a pot on the patio - we will definitely be planting one again next year.  In fact, I saved the seeds from a few of these orange flower heads that already bloomed and dried up.  They were the most prolific of the bunch.

If you are living in just about any state north of us, you could plant a butterfly garden now and have blooms in a couple of months!
