Cabana theology

I’ve been collecting interesting theological questions from Jonah and Benjamin (I can no longer just write “the boys,” huh?) over the past several months...

Who made God?

Is God a person?

Is Jesus God?

Why is God a spirit?

Why can’t I see God?

God is not comforting me.

Jonah: Why did the soldiers die Jesus?

Benjamin: “God?!” (he looks out the window) “Oh God?!”

(he looks at me) “God is not answering me.”

The chorus of “Jesus Loves Me” was changed to “Yes, Jesus loves meats...”

One of the issues being debated in the theological world is whether or not Judas is in heaven. My personal take on that is that if there’s no hope for Judas, there sure as heck is not a lot of hope for me, but.... The boys had their own theological debate going in the other room and finally Benjamin came to ask, “Mama, is Goliath in heaven or not? I want to hit him with this rock.”

Benjamin: What is that song: “love one another?”

Me: How does it go?

Benjamin (half-singing): “May be full.”

Me: Can you sing more of it?

Jonah (singing): “This is my cabana...”

[As in: “This is my commandment, that you love one another, that your joy may be full!”]
